Because of Taylor Swift and her american government ties and legion of adoring fans, she not only personly led the Chiefs to tie in the last 3 seconds of the game, which led to an intense over time where Swift herself came on the field in the last few remaining seconds to score a win for her boyfriends team.
It has brought a tear to my eye from the enjoyment. Now i can not wait untill she leads our president on the campaign trial to finally put an end to Trump and his crazed zealots.
Thanks, I was wondering if Taylor Swift’s team won!
Yup! I dont follow sports, but i kept track of this game, i just really wanted the chiefs to win to see the backlash and conspiracy theories run amuk.
For crossword puzzle purposes, remember it’s pronounced amuck but spelled amok unless you’re reading archaic texts. 👍
It’s amok time!
DAH-DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH-DAH DAH DAH
Also for crossword puzzle purposes: Bobby Orr played hockey for the Bostin Bruins and the Chicago Black Hawks.
You’re with me on this, aren’t you fellow crossword fans?
Hmmm amok just doesnt look right… ill stick with my misspelling, but thank you though.
My family was wondering why I was so into the Chiefs this year when I never cared about them before. Their overtime win scored me a future basket of free hot wings and a steady stream of Swiftcentric conspiracy theories. Can’t remember being this jazzed about a Superbowl outcome in the past 20 years.
Hell I can’t tell if I’m seeing that in some of the replies here or if they are poking fun. Poe’s Law is far too much of a minefield these days.
No. She won. There was no team. It was all Tayloer.
Yes, barely. Luckily, the refs gave the Chiefs 10 bonus points for just having her there, which really helped tip the scales.
But she forgot to endorse Biden! The Deep State, Nancy Pelosi and Saul Alinsky must not have gotten to her! She’s definitely going to endorse Trump at her next concert!
Now excuse me, I have to go wait for the next Q drop.
Not true, if you take all the shots of her during the game, splice them together in Star Wars machete order (starting with the fourth shot, then the 5th, then the second, adding in The Clone Wars, and so on) and play them back at 1.35927x speed, you can definitely see her mouth something that looks like “Vote Joe Biden.”
If you can’t see it, try reversing the feed at 0.83461x speed while standing on your head instead.
I’m in Kansas City and don’t really follow football THAT much but had been checking the score occasionally on my second monitor. I knew we were tied in overtime. Then I heard a bunch of gunshots in every direction and thats how I knew the game was over and we had won.
Murica.
I was just thinking, how can we call it American Football if we don’t arm the players? Maybe just in the 2nd half, everyone gets a sidearm. After all, they’re basically a well-regulated militia, right?
basically a well-regulated militia
A hell of a lot more of one than every single individual, as the courts seems to believe.
Wichita here, glad I was asleep. Not looking forward to work, though. If I pull the “isn’t that hockey?” line today I’ll prolly get stabbed.
For some real fun, ask them how many points Michael Jordan scored.
Shit. I said Michael Jackson.
Lots of fireworks in my part of STL tonight, I’m sure there were gunshots in other parts as well lol they love shooting the sky here in MO
Damn I was in STL yesterday and had NO idea the Superbowl was tonight. I’m back home in SWMO now, and I’ve heard nothing. Weird.
The NFL’s first Super Bowl in Las Vegas was a sloppy, mistake-filled affair that was mostly boring until the back-and-forth fourth quarter and OT. It was the second of 58 Super Bowls to go to overtime.
lol this coming from an AP article makes me chuckle.
This is a perfectly apt description… My background allows me to appreciate highly defensive games, but my GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD are the boooooooring
Second OT in Super Bowl history… both lost by Kyle Shanahan teams after a comeback by the opposition.
I’m of the very vast minority that LOVED the massive defense going. I love defensive games where it’s a battle of attrition and taking advantage of errors. It’s so good to me and I can’t stand high scoring games.
I’m a hockey guy though, so maybe that’s part of it? I like to see all parts of the system doing their part and not a single part of it (e.g., offense only) dominating.
Oh man I didn’t see this angle, Andy Reid looks so done.
Bro Kelce full on shoved him, like wtf. Big red don’t be deservin that:(
Maholmes and Kelce are children… it’s really fucked up the way they act.
Started slow, but ended pretty good. Also watched it on the Bikini Bottom Broadcast on Nickolodeon. That was really funny and well done. I’m definitely watching it that way again next year.
Nick will probably only get to do that when CBS has the Super Bowl, and right now it’s in rotation with the other networks so they won’t get it again until 2028. Sorry. They do a few regular season games that way, though.
Never thought I’d see Dora the Explorer throwing shade at defensive football plays, what an era we live in.
We switched to it after having some problems with the main stream, and the entire family agreed it was the best way to ever watch football.
The giant thumbs up between the uprights at every field goal or extra point should be standard, and the green slime flood at every TD was almost as good.
Edit: And Larry da mf Lobster!
wasn’t aware of them doing anything with the broadcast.
Let’s gooooo conspiracy theorists! I’m thirsty for your tears!
Solid game and all, but that Deadpool 3 trailer with Wolverine and Loki stuff is what really got me hyped.
I opened Youtube 10 minutes ago and watched it. I’m glad the best part of the Superbowl didn’t require any Superbowl watching
Is overtime in this sport an extra hour of ads and 5 minutes of actual play?
I was wondering how that works for advertising. Like do they sell and extra hour worth of ads, that you only pay if they get a chance to air.
There are conditional aspects to the ad-buy contracts. You only pay for the time if it’s used.
Lol Wikipedia page for this SuperBowl game says it lasted 74 minutes and I was like lol doubt.
(for the record, I know they are talking about the game clock. Doesn’t change my reaction.)
Great game. The 49ers played a better game early on, but the Chiefs hung in there and executed when it counted.
How many 49ers did they kill?
They got 25 of em! So over half!
Credit to Patrick. He has won three of them now.
I typically don’t watch sports but occasionally I’ll watch big things like the super bowl. It was so god damn boring. Holy shit.
Was Taylor Swift happy ?

Those traitors got exactly what they deserved since abandoning San Francisco
Breaking news: some boys played ball in matching costumes today
Oh wow, lookie here folks, we have a rebel who isn’t interested in one of the largest sporting events of the year. Ladies, please form an orderly queue.
The ladies were all busy watching the Super Bowl because Tay Tay was there
Not a rebel, I just don’t think sports counts as news.
newly received or noteworthy information, especially about recent or important events.
Considering there’s about three or four subjective elements of that definition, I think we can agree that what is news to some may not be news to others, and vice versa.
Well, Sir or Madam, you clearly haven’t been paying attention if you think this wasn’t newsworthy.
Far-right influencer Rogan O’Handley went so far as to suggest that if the Chiefs won the Super Bowl, Swift and Kelce would trigger an apocalyptic chain of events that would kill millions. “You MUST defeat the Chiefs,” O’Handley wrote in an X post addressed to the San Francisco 49ers. “If you don’t, Mr. Pfizer and his girlfriend are going to tour the country as ‘world champions’ helping elect Joe Biden WW3 will likely follow in a 2nd Biden term and millions will die. The fate of the free world rests upon your shoulders”
Looks like we’re all going to die now, and without this discussion, how would you know that??!
I mean…yeah? the super bowl is kind of news?
When my local little league team wins, it doesn’t impact the world in significant ways. Same applies here.
Sports are great, please enjoy sports as much as you want. But don’t conflate sports games as news
Single incidents of murder or other crimes also don’t “impact the world in significant ways” but are most certainly news. Why is this not? It affects more people.
Yeah you’re right, actual lose of human life and a bunch of millionaires throwing a ball around are fully comparable things of equal value and concern.
I bet you say “sportsball” and think it’s hilarious
Maybe not in America with the Super Bowl but sports can do a lot more than just “a bunch of millionaires throwing a ball around”. The Ivory Coast making the World Cup caused a civil war to stop; the qualifications between El Salvador and Honduras started one. Hong Kong beating China in 1985 caused riots in Beijing; while basketball has given America someone who can do diplomacy with Kim Jong-un because the Supreme Leader of North Korea likes basketball
I’m not a sports guy either, I made that clear elsewhere in this thread. But just because neither of us are sports fans doesn’t mean we have to pretend that sports can be a big deal to quite a few people on this planet. And the big championship game is going to be news.
There’s no reason to have a temper tantrum over the fact that a news website is reporting the outcome of a football game. This doesn’t hurt anyone in any way, other than those who are incredibly sensitive to the fact that sometimes they are exposed to things they don’t like.
If you’re gonna attempt to be edgy with your disdain, at least be original.
Dude, I don’t like football either, but read the room.
