    Specifically, what it looks like when you start a war with a country more powerful than you.

    This is where you lose me. What percentage of Gaza’s population “started” the war?

        Yeah, that’s how war works. The leadership (in this case one chosen by the people) chooses on behalf of their people.

        The last election in Gaza was in 2006. About half of the population wasn’t even alive. Did they really choose this?

        So collective punishment of the civilian population is part of all war, in your view? Including cutting off food and water?

            Yes. In war, it’s super common for civilian populations to lose their homes, lose access to food and water supplies, etc

            This isn’t quite the same though is it? Food, water and essential supplies were purposefully cut off.

            You didn’t answer this part: given the fact that the last election was 2006 and about half of the population wasn’t even alive, did they really choose this?
