Depending on the streaming service, a $99 Roku box might be worth the investment.

I think you mean Londo instead of his assistant, Vir. But yes, Londo and G’Kar were amazing.
Errr… I still think Babylon 5 Season 4 is the best of television, but you have to have invested in 1-3 first.
It’s particularly bad on my Samsung sets, their HDR implementation is a known bug and there’s no way to disable it on the television itself, all you can do is disable it on connected devices.
Then I find, everytime my Roku, Xbox, or Playstation gets an update, I have to disable it again. :(
Still, better than watching a black scene in a coalmine. LOL.
HDR on:
HDR off:
I have that problem on my televisions, it turns out, it’s bad implementation of HDR.
Turn HDR off on your devices and the picture is instantly bright and clear.
Enterprise is better than people give it credit for.
The discussion needs to cool down so people don’t get bounced for violating lemmy.world TOS.
I’m anti-knee-jerk-reaction.
If it turns out like people want, that this is some relative of someone who died because they were denied care, that’s a different conversation… but we just don’t know yet.
So my advice is cool it until we do know.
nothing Russia might do is worse than the millions displaced, livelihoods destroyed, hundreds of thousands dead that we’re seeing
The millions displaced, livelihoods destroyed, hundreds of thousands dead is BECAUSE RUSSIA CHOSE TO INVADE.
Removed for misinformation/Russian propaganda.
Why he got killed is just as important. The people celebrating don’t know why they’re celebrating. They don’t know anything about the guy other than he’s a CEO.
Let’s say, just for the sake of argument, that he was involved in a mixed marriage and some white supremacist killed him for being a “race traitor”.
Suddenly now the discussion has changed.
People are assuming he got killed for reason “x”, but we just do not know at this point and it’s more prudent to withhold judgement until we DO know.
More people have been killed over providing reproductive care than have been for denying it. Everyone celebrating this guy getting killed is going to feel super dumb if it turns out it was some anti-abortion or anti-trans nutjob.
Like I said in another thread, we just do not know at this point.
"Everyone WANTS it to be “scumbag insurance exec. killed for scumbag insurance reasons”, but we just don’t know at this point.
Jilted lover? Could be. Caught cheating? Sure, why not? Insurance killing? Weirder things have happened. Friend or relative just sick of his shit? I mean, I dunno the guy, but anything is possible. Completely random killing? In MY New York City? It’s more likely than you think!"
If it turns out he got killed because somebody approved an abortion or gender affirming care, suddenly that IS political, but not in a way anybody expected. The conversation gets turned on its head.
That’s why I’m saying “don’t get all excited, wait until we know more.”
I think we should care about the reasons, because if it turns out he got killed because somebody approved an abortion or gender affiming care, all of a sudden the narrative gets turned on its head.
It’s way more likely for people who approve those medical procedures to get killed than for people who deny those procedures.
Which is why I advise caution. You don’t know what you’re celebrating yet.
There’s an awful lot of celebratory assumptions going on here, I’d caution everybody that we still don’t know the reason this guy was killed.

In short, before you all start going “Wooo! Good start!” maybe take a breath and wait until we know more about what happened.
I have’t seen it posted to Politics, but it would be removed as it’s not political.
News seems to be removing it since people can’t (won’t?) abide by lemmy.world terms of service:
https://legal.lemmy.world/tos/
"1. Attacks on users or groups
Before using the website, remember you will be interacting with actual, real people and communities. Lemmy.World is not a place for you to attack other people or groups of people. Just because you disagree with someone doesn’t give you the right to harass them. Discuss ideas and be critical of principles. Show the respect you desire to receive.

Question I put to anyone who supports this:
Why would you ban Buck Angel from using the mens room?
And then there’s…
82% Positive? Are you shitting me?
Ultima IV. All the JRPG stuff started here.
I find the same thing, but I’m really questioning the taste of others.
Never really did PC gaming, bought a SteamDeck to get into that ecosystem after seeing all the posts about “ZOMG! STEAM SALE!!!”
Are people just… not discerning? Do you just buy ANYTHING because it’s on sale?
The signal to noise ratio on Steam is just nuts to me… Yeah, some game might be $1.99, 90% off, but if it’s not worth the bandwidth to download, why are you bothering? Do you lack the ability to tell good games from bad games?
And when the company folds in 16 months you’ll have achieved nothing…
Now I want a t-shirt that says “Herodotus was right.”
