It’s about literally nothing. People just (rightfully) hate Meta so they cry wolf for no reason. Try looking for Meta users on Mastodon, you won’t find almost any. Most thread users don’t know what the fediverse is, don’t care about it and don’t want to know. Threads has likely already more users than the whole fediverse. Their base is already bigger of what they should theoretically “expand and extinguish”. There is absolutely no reason for them to care about the fediverse more other than some niche PR.

The EEE case never made sense from the beginning in this context, but people are still repeating it like a mantra. They are taking an emotional approach to a rational issue. Funnily enough, many of them are probably unable to understand how people could vote for Trump…

Also I don’t understand the problem at all. It’s not like instances can’t defererate later if an issue arise. We were the niche from the start, and they already had all the users they could ever need. And ongoing project was just easier to implement compared to developing a platform from scratch, that’s all.

  • Well, context definitely matters. We don’t know what you did, how you did it, if she was with her bf, how sane was her bf etc etc. I don’t want to negate your personal experience but I doubt it was just normally casually “talking to a girl” that got you in trouble in a normal situation.

Also 2015 is almost 10 years ago, it’s not really accurate to define it as the current situation.

As for my source, I’m white, my wife is Korean, my ex was Korean, and I hang out alone with female Korean friends a lot. Some very old grandpa may be not very happy about skinship in public, but that’s all. Never to the extent of being attacked or harassed, it’s usually just looking at us a bit with a grumpy face.

This being said, it’s not all perfect. Some families may be less open than others in accepting a marriage with a foreigner (old generations, young people just think it’s cool usually). And not only about white people. The mom of a friend was grumpy about her son marrying a Japanese girl, for example (even if he lives in Japan) But even so, nowdays is rarely open hostility.

Of course idiots are everywhere. So I’m pretty sure there are young guys saying “white guys steal our women!1!!” and getting angry.

Also, an important note is that these days the fight between “feminist” Korean women and men against them is getting bigger. This can influence especially the mind of young men. I was approached by a Korean boy asking me about how women are in my country because all Korean women sucks and are terrible. In that context, I’m sure some guy will use dating a foreigner as an excuse to say how shit and easy Korean girls are.

Anyway, exceptions aside the average population is pretty much fine with it, especially in big cities. It’s not like Korean men don’t like white women too, after all.

Sorry if this is too long, but we’re all here to share knowledge about those countries anyway

  • Except that it’s not 2000 years ago anymore. Literally everyone knows about Christianity, hell and Jesus already. You’re not coming with some obscure new secret.

If they don’t believe it’s because they don’t want to, so please do leave them alone.

If they look interested instead, then yes of course help them out.

But going to them first and starting telling them how their soul will burn in hell for eternity is definitely not a nice thing to do to anyone. Nobody asked your opinion there.

If me and my group of 200 people believe that there is an evil invisible monster that will curse the soul of everyone unless they come to our church and listen to our priest once a week, would you like all 200 of them to come to you and tell you the same story all over again and again until you give up and go? No, I don’t think you’d like that.

It’s just a matter of respecting each other faith (or lack of) and personal freedom.

  • The guy still think that logic didn’t evolve past Aristotle and basic syllogisms, even after a couple of millenia, and argues about a supposed Socrates logic (?) that involves them (???)

They have no idea what they’re talking about other than some random information that they found online, probably. I wouldn’t expect any kind of real logical argument from there.

The funniest thing is that you showed them a perfect example of socratic reductio ad absurdum, but it completely flew over their head because they are too busy trying to argue about syllogisms…

  • Not really surprising. That last part “tard” comes from the Latin tardus which basically means slow or late. The “re” particle originally just had a meaning of repetition, in this case. So being late (not for the first time? ) So changing the first part of the word wouldn’t change the meaning of it so easily. Maybe technically something like “intard” could make sense in that way (similarly as what you find in words like indomitable, impossible, ineffective etc), but it doesn’t really exist. Or if we want to make it more meme-like, tarden’t?

Protarded actually exists as a slang with completely different meaning, but that’s out of scope

Overall useless information for most, but anyway

  • That specific word in Italian has multiple meanings, one of which being something like “excessive/useless detail or addition, especially when done for the cool factor only” and another being “gayness”.

Without the full context of the sentence, it’s very hard to say what he meant or what he was saying.

Of course the word is still originating from the slur and shouldn’t be used by the pope, but it’s technically possible that wasn’t even used in relation to any minority (just as much as the opposite)

Unless I missed some extra info or source that has the full context, it’s hard to say

  • To add from what everyone is saying, the only real new system that you missed is strikes. Basically a 10 people single boss battle, like raids but without the filler and pre-events. Very puggable, especially what people call the easy 3 (shiverpeaks pass, voice/claw of the fallen, fraenir of jormag)

If you want to avoid story spoilers, be sure to follow the story until the end of the norn map of IBS before joining them.

EoD added a new mount, skiffs (boat), plus some new systems that you won’t find outside of those maps anyway, so don’t worry too much about it. But of course you need it to use the elite specs

The last expansion instead gave us new weapons without the traitline and unlocked elite specs’ weapons to be used regardless of the spec. To unlock all of that you need to play the expansion until a certain point tho. If you don’t have the skyscale in the expansion there is also a new way to get it that should be a bit faster

In general, there wasn’t any big shake to things, it’s mostly more of the same and some new side things. The only real difference is a bit of powecreep and that now every class can cover any role.

So take your time, play everything in order and all the new things will appear step by step

Oh, then I’m glad I’ve been helpful! Of course it doesn’t stop the yeast completely, but it hinders it.

About the oil, that’s interesting. Maybe it’s different in other countries because of different availability. Here in Italy it’s always used (similar amount to salt but 1~2% of the flour weight more compared to salt) Of course only extravirgin olive oil, not sure about the results with other oils

I usually add it last, after flour, salt, water and yeast.

Some pizzas also have some fresh oil on them after cooking, but dipping is too daring for my weak traditional heart.

But if the results aew good, that’s all that matters

Is there a reason why you’re not using oil for the dough? Also (probably you already do but I’ll say for people reading) never mix salt and yeast directly, one should be added only when the other is already absorbed and well mixed. Salt contrast yeast chemical reactions. A simple way is to melt salt in the water beforehand

Liked the story better than EoD, even if it was dumb to see the commander keeping his “secret” without a second thought after jormag and onis

And they still overuse >!deaths of new characters!< way too much, it doesn’t have any weight when done like that

Anyway the story was different, no dragons, overall with a good pacing too. Also finally some new lore, and no magitech

So I still enjoyed it more than anything since PoF and S4 times

Also I’m interested in seeing the rest of it, especially if we end up “crossing over”, that place looked great

The maps are nice (nothing too great but enjoyable), rifts last the right amount of time to avoid becoming too boring immediately, the masteries fill up quick enough too

The vault system left me with a positive impression, it’s clearly something new to patch up (more dailies to choose between, mix between the games modes) but it shows potential. And they added gemstore items and gold to it, this can’t be appreciated enough

Relics were frankly a disaster. Almost all of them are boring, no more summons, interesting effects were removed, especially for condi builds there is basically no choice. For many builds not equipping a relic or equipping a bad one makes realistically no difference compared to equipping a “good” one

The idea to separate the bonus from the runes was good, but there was no reason to change the effects, especially not like that. They need a complete relics overhaul ASAP

The armor sets were nice but lacking variety. Also it has to be seen how annoying the legendary armor grind will be

I haven’t tried the strikes yet, so I can’t really say much.

All in all, I am satisfied. There are some things to fix but it looks like a step in the right direction

  • There are a few technical problems with that. First of all, the cost of each instance would become quickly unbearable since everyone has all the duplicated data.

Second problem, a malign entity could just come, create its own instance, spam everything and everyone with ads or whatever and suddenly every instance is full of that stuff. Also, how do you handle defederating in that case?

What has been proposed before instead was to make some kind of mega communities that gather all posts from communities with the same name across instances
