I'd been using Unity off-and-on for more than a decade, even published two crappy mobile games back in the day

this recent kerfuffle led me to find Godot and I actually quite enjoy it. so even if Unity did a full reversal I can't see myself ever going back to it

I had no idea their CEO was from EA, so in a way I'm glad all this happened as I learned quite a bit

oh interesting, hadn't come across that project before

thanks for the tip!

does the switch pro controller use different joysticks than the joycons?

my joycons have drift but the pro controller, which I've used more often, is perfectly fine

wow scary stuff! going back into lockdown immediately!!

A recently noted medical phenomenon involves small amounts of DHMO leaking or oozing from the corners of the eyes as a direct result of causes such as foreign particulate irritation, allergic reactions including anaphylactic shock, and sometimes severe chemical depression.

I remember seeing Frasier as a kid when it first came out and I thought it was a boring show for old people

Then I ended up watching it after recovering from surgery a few years ago and it is easily one of my favorite shows of all time

thanks for the heads up, loading it now!!

iRacing is granting all active users iRacing credits equal to the age of your account (up to 15 credits)

For example, if you created your account in August 2008, you will receive $15 in credits. Every active member will receive at least $1 in credit, even if you created your account on August 25th of this year. If you joined five years ago, you will get $5 in credit.

what is proper cross-posting etiquette

if you want to cross-post the same exact image to a different community there should be a link at the top of this post to cross-post (if using the desktop web ui), it sorta looks like a copy icon

but if you wanted to use a new photo then I think just creating a new post over there is probably easiest

I've gone ahead and subscribed to that other community, hopefully it gains some traction. I enjoy seeing old finds from yard sales, etc

the only general community I could find while searching is this one, but it appears to be completely empty

!vintage@lemmy.world

kinda surprised there isn't a generic vintage type community, maybe there is one out there somewhere!

found this account on Mastodon and seems like a cool project trying to preserve some nice video game history

Greg Hill was on the iRacing Race for More 2.4 livestream yesterday, a charity race and livestream for the National MS Society, and showed quite a video few clips of iRacing wet weather in action, explaining all the variability of the system they have developed. Footage shows clouds forming, rain starting, damp track, puddle formation, sunshine, drying line, drying track and more. A few different tracks are shown, including Daytona’s roadcourse. He also talks about the racing line being more slippy in the wet, like real life.

According to https://lemmy.fediverse.observer/dailystats

Lemmy has ~67,500 daily active users over the past two weeks (it did peak at around 72,000)

How do you feel about the activity in your communities?

Do you think it will take another 'event' on some other website for more growth, or do you think Lemmy can grow naturally from here?

Or are you fine with the current activity and don't necessarily see the need for more users at this time?

This site is great for casual video game radio listening with a lot of retro game music

You can even request and vote on upcoming songs which is cool
