A few years ago, I set up a monthly donation. Of all things I can use for free on the internet, Wikipedia deserves it the most.

Since when is the UK in the EU?
Slip, slop, slap. I think that goes without saying.
Turrets can spin 360 degrees over and over again. There are many reasons to nave the turet backwards in regular situations. In repair situation it allows access to thr engine compartment. So if this was meant to be a “Polish” joke, the joke is OP.
Then let’s teach kids to use Wolfram Alpha.
When Shell stops donations to political parties, candidates and all of its lobbying I’ll agree with you.
It’s the tradition silly. They just want the good old days. They’re just conservatives.
Why were there only 22 nazis on trial in Nuremberg? Because the dock could only fit 22 people. How did the denazification go? Of the 1.3million nazis to be prosecuted it was only a fraction of a fraction. Germany now is not what it used to be then, but there are ‘conservatives’ among the good German people.
I was like you until windows 10. I opted out of that. It just felt like losing control over my computer. Windows 11 even more so.
I swapped about a month ago. I’m running Ubuntu on desktop and openSuse Tumbleweed on laptop; both with KDE Plasma desktop environment, which makes the transition from windows easier. It’s a little bit of a learning curve as the names of software packages are unfamiliar to me, but I’m liking it.
My partner who never even contemplated anything else but windows did some work on my computer and I expected questions and frustration from her, but alas she did what she needed to do and I doubt she even noticed.
Mind you, I don’t really do gaming.
Time to ditch Prime.
TBH, it was a long ago, but this is the last straw.
I see your point and agree. I use online banking and I trust that my bank doesn’t want to compromise my account by adding some back-door. Having said that I have no doubt that should and government agency request access to my financial data, they would do it in a blink of an eye.
Yes, the law is a bad one and people should voice their protests, but I’m afraid that nothing will ultimately change and we’ll have more bad laws in the future.
I didn’t say they’re banning encryption, I was just referring to the back-door requirement. An encryption with a back-door is no encryption at all.
Signal as far as I know isn’t based in the UK and hence not subject to these laws.
It’s fairly simple: encrypted software developers will leave the UK, because no one would trust the security of their SW. I’m not sure if there is an exception for online banking, but perhaps this bill will stimulate the mattress industry and encourage return to the old ways of storing money.
Am I the only one around here who thinks that it’s a bad idea to let anyone launch thousands of satellites into space and control them privately?
I think it’s time for international satellite treaty regulating use of this technology and the amount of them in space to the benefit of everyone. Either those satellites serve everyone or no one.
You’re the real MVP.
It’s not a deterrent, it’s a business expense. I bet it’s even tax deductible.
What? You have nothing to say now? I would appreciate if you stated your position to my replies to you.
Whaa? You crazy man? Surely that’s no possible…
What are the rules of war against a prison camp? We could perhaps consult the Federal Bureau of Prisons manual, but I did not find the word “war” in it. Unfortunately, I don’t read Hebrew, so I came up blank there too.
