I agree. Fuck the midwest too.

Perfect example as to why you don’t use the same password for every account you create on the internet. And use the same email address for everything you do. And like to use the same username on every site you sign up for.
They go where nobody is going to give them any resistance. Try come doing that shit in my neighborhood and see how it goes. We all know what we have to do to stop them. The sooner we stop bitching and whining about it and start doing it the better off we will be.
Getting older. Lots of drama. Lots of political bullshit I can’t stand anymore and don’t want to hear about. Not saying my situation is the healthiest in the world but that is how I am feeling these days.
I dont even want to talk to half the people I know anymore lol. I stopped using FB but keep it running because there are many years of pics and what not for family. And when I bring it down people freak out and think something is wrong with me. Other than that, it has been stripped of any identifying information, only has people I know and I never use it anymore. That was the only real ‘personal’ place I had on the internet. Everything else is fake names and whatnot, always has been.
I know some punchy english dudes but yeah, you right. Nothing like America.
Every state has its good and bad. We are out of control with the gun thing. There is a higher chance you will get shot and killed while minding your own business in America than most other countries. We are selfish and not much unity unless you are on one side or there and even then, we have become stupid and gullible. We are violent. We are much more violent in general than anyone I have ever encountered in other countries. Maybe England, but even there, it is not the same. Americans have no problem straight up killing each other. We are getting worse.
Is America great? Depends on who you ask. Is America a place where you still have some opportunities to make a better life for yourself. Sure. But it is not the same as that the pamphlet sold to everyone else. We are far from perfect and in many cases, other countries do things better.
Having said that, it is cool. Just keep your eyes open and pay attention.
You don’t know what you are talking about.
To elaborate… Need as in some kind of self defense scenario or even as a survivalist. There are 4 firearms I would probably want to have, each having a specific purpose. But that is it. Having 47 is like a cat lady or something. To me it is weird and unnecessary.
This is America, I have no problem with people owning guns. I support gun restrictions and the banning of automatic assault rifles as well. That is common sense to me.
That is what they have to prove. Will have to see.
47… the cheapest one was probably 500$ or so. This is fetish. What the hell are you going to do with them all? I can think of 3 or 4 models I need and the rest of my stockpile just needs to be ammo for them.
They gimped it for the masses but AI is going strong. There is no question of the power of GPT4 and others. LLM’s are just a part of the big picture.
If she has a winnable case, the D. is fuuuuuucked.
The dude is out of control.
Fuck you. I hate you all.
Just kidding. I like it here. Sometimes a little boring but maybe that is a good thing. I have plenty of things to do. This is a nice break and not stressful like some other sites.
Lemmy still has a small user base compared to sites like Reddit. Some of those features came out of managing huge user bases. And naturally when you have a huge userbase, you have people wanting to make money. Some honestly, some not. The site itself sees the potential to make money. Over time good intentions tend to melt away and the demons run amok.
The trick will be if places like Lemmy and Mastadon and whatever are able to over come this and remain pure.
I think the key will be the adoption of all the sub-reddits coming here and producing the same quality content they do there.
People have become more open to “testing the waters” of other apps. Sure they are still using Reddit and Twitter etc… but many have also started playing with lemmy, mastodon etc… I have no idea where this will end up but there is a shift of willingness to try something else and that is good start.
I got one to print parts for my drones thinking it would be no big deal and it turned in to a hobby in itself.
Dickhead?
