On Friday it did 3 reps, and then 1 rep on the leg press at 925 pounds.

I've been working a lot on legs and don't really have anyone in real life interested in hearing random gym brags. I wanted to share.

For completely arbitrary reasons I want to break 1000 pounds 1RM and I think I'm really, really close.

925 pounds. Does that mean +400kg?

[–] setsneedtofeed@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (2 children)

419.5kg according to a quick conversion.

Holy shit, makes me wonder how the posture and arrangement for the leg press translates to carrying heavy loads in the upright position.

What weight do you think you could carry if it was strapped to your waist?

I've carried 200lbs for distance. I'm sure I still could, but I've greatly chilled out when it comes to heavy packs.

That's insanely strong dude, outstanding

Congratulations. I can barely do 225 but 10 reps.

However, make sure to go full ROM.

[–] setsneedtofeed@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Always full ROM. This week I'm going lighter weights on things in preparation for a 1k attempt next week, but be assured I'm bottoming out on my squats.

Excellent, my dude!

There is a leg press machine at my gym which doesn't go full depth ("for the safety of the clients"). I have to put a bunch of yoga mats behind my back to get any depth. Such a pain to setup.

That's actually really impressive. Good for you OP.

Thanks. It was rough. For two days after I walked like Robocop when he's glitching out.
