        Blame CAFE laws. It’s almost impossible for auto makers to sell small LUVs in the US without pricing them higher than most large trucks.

        The newer rangers are alright, though definitely bigger than they used to be. My ‘01 just keeps limpin along though, sucker won’t quit

          no the new rangers suck they deserved a better design. its ass is too tall stuff dissapears behind it. the engines are too high strung little hot boxs. the interiors are cheap in the wrong way and look nice but will all go the way of the ranger center console lid… ripped torn and smashed. though the aluminum body soumds fun till its a drill welds and replace the whole panel moment. i never get wleded panels back do you …they always rivet them back together for me.

              on work and personal 8 in total all on f250s though with 6.0ls in the last 3 years. normally somone backs into something. like a light pole or construction dumpster …btw generally any damage to bed panels and its easier to replace the panel then fix it.

          I don’t think it was badly written for the time but it’s definitely been gamed to the point where pickup trucks need to be part of emissions standards instead of exempt.

      Both of my cars are older than me. And at least one is in better shape than I am.
