I really believe God will break you down until you have no choice but to trust in him.

And this is good! This is totally normal behavior for a loving being! He only wants me to follow the right path! Out of my own choice, through my own free will and everything!

Jokes aside, this person has gone through some shit, and rather than getting therapy, she is doubling down.

Considering that, according to them… he made everything and everyone cuz he was bored and lonely. (Yup. We’re a mid-life crisis puppy.)

Now, remember that he’s all knowing and omnipotent and like, exists outside of time. Such a being would therefore have known they’d eat the damn fruit. More importantly, any being with more awareness than a turnip would have seen that one coming, even if they didn’t see it literally coming. You know what I mean.

So this means it was all part of the plan. Which means the plan was, for this supposedly all-powerful, all-knowing being to come down here and LARP the white knight.

Oh… Incel tendencies. That never clicked. They must see themselves as the posterchild for pre-creation god.

total Nice Guy™️ vibes. The entire book of Job is… what…? ruining some guys life over a bet… only then to say, “wtf do you know? you don’t know me, can’t understand me. who the fuck are you?”

the 2 speeches by god at the end of the book of job, god is basically saying “you can’t possibly understand” - like a total Nice Guy abuser. This, after allowing satan to destroy the man’s life (to the point of killing off a very successful business, killing off his very large family, and very nearly killing him off, too.) ostensibly because there was a bet about whether or not Job would still worship/respect/follow god if he still had all the good things in his life.

Why do you assume they didn’t get therapy? Faith* is essential for many people to survive hardships.

*Even atheists have to believe in something if not a deity

Depends on how you define belief.
For me, it’s based on a lack of evidence / understanding.

I don’t believe, if I can help it.

        In anything.

Yes. I believe in things. Pencils, Neptune, internal combustion engines. You know, things that we have evidence for the existence of.

Or by ‘believe in something’ did you mean some sort of woo-woo bullshit? Because I have no need to believe in woo-woo bullshit.

You are equivocating two meanings of belief.

Believing things that are provable is OK.

Believing mythical nonsense you were told in a story book or a temple is not OK. Faith is not a path for truth.

I don’t understand. What do you mean “believe”? What do atheists believe in that isn’t based in actual tangible reality that you’re referring to here?
