man it really sucks to see my country speeding towards war and being powerless to stop it. sorry in advance to all the people we will kill.

You're in luck, China will back down from it's red line (again), because they actually care about the continued existence of human civilisation over acting tough

However, because I just posted this prediction on chapo.chat, the opposite will come true and there's gonna be a hot war.

Historians in 2300: "We recovered data from an previously unknown but clearly extremely influential medium called Hexbear, and now we are convinced that as of yet unidentified user Gucci_Minh is responsible for the breaking of WW3"

Arent you guys supposed to have weapons in order to oppose a bad government by force if necessary? Comunists in the usa should organize FAST

[–] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 13 points 8 months ago

They're too busy repping for Brandon right now

Looked it up, doubt it'll turn into anything between the US and China directly. US sent them to train TW forces, so likely will be more proxy war prep work. US stirring the pot once again.

[–] yogthos@lemmygrad.ml 20 points 8 months ago

I also expect China would want to keep the status quo as long as they can cause time is on their side. I think US is desperately trying to provoke China at this point because they know that the window when they can challenge China is closing on them.

This seems like clickbait. What's going on?

[–] FreudianCafe@lemmy.ml 24 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Its not. Danny haiphong do some good journalism, but his titles and images are shit. USA sent troops to a china's island on behalf of taiwan, and that is ground invasion of china. If i remember correctly tw has jurisdiction over the island but its 300km away from tw and 10km away from mainland china

[–] yogthos@lemmygrad.ml 17 points 8 months ago

Yeah, it's a huge provocation on the part of the US.

[–] QueerCommie@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 8 months ago

Next week China, the DPRK, and Iran should all finally retaliate.

[–] darkcalling@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 8 months ago (1 children)

War is coming but not because of this. I read about this development in Chinese media some days ago and they didn't seem any more upset at this than any of the other provocations which is to say they'll almost certainly ignore it aside from statements.

I expect China might respond asymmetrically here as they've done previously. They might ban exports of some more critical military materials such as rare earth metals for example.

[–] AlbigensianGhoul@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 8 months ago

USA literally biting the hand that feeds them, what could go wrong.

[–] FortifiedAttack@hexbear.net 7 points 8 months ago

Oh no, a red line crossed! Anyways...
