about Operation Death From Above? nah, that's just some crazy conspiracy talk

[–] tsonfeir@lemm.ee 22 points 9 months ago

If you don’t own two cats, then yes

As long as the earth isn't flat, nop. 😹

[–] dphile@lemm.ee 8 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Whew! That’s a relief. Although the top of my fridge IS flat, soooo…

[–] example@reddthat.com 4 points 9 months ago

based on the sticker logic, it's clearly not

Unfortunately your time of death has already been decided and the order signed.

Only not if you're feeding them well enough.

When I was five, I clogged the drain in a water fountain with leaves.

It's only a matter of time before we all drown. Let us hope that the Earth is flat after all.

But if it is flat then when all the water spills off the top of the ice wall we'll all get pulled off the edges by the water flow.

Or, I dunno, does the firmament stop water? It has to, right? Otherwise all the air would also escape. In which case the water will just build up and up until the entire snow globe is filled to the top!

Then we end up in a Truman Show scenario where we can just literally sail to the edge of the Earth but not fall off because we hit the sky box I guess?

So you're saying your refrigerator is not truly flat?

[–] setsneedtofeed@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

I wouldn’t worry about it.

Long Live The King…

Hmmm they'd really like more space up there, so probably. And also you should be concerned about the subject - verb agreement in your sticker.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago (1 children)

"Were" is subjunctive in that sentence, not plural.

Exactly. As in “if I were you”.

subject - verb agreement in your sticker

Could you elaborate what you mean by that? Should it be “was flat”?

[–] marron12@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

It's subjunctive, so "were" is technically correct. But it's super duper common for people to use "was" instead.

only near the fridge

I used to keep my patio door open at my third floor apartment years ago while i was at work. Came home one day and one of my cats were missing. I flipped out drove around my apartment calling her name yelling at the top of my lungs getting stared at the whole time. Completely freaking out, as im getting a drink from my fridge i see her just laying down looking at me from atop it like im crazy.

[–] GluWu@lemm.ee 2 points 9 months ago

My cat doesn't climb things, she likes being close to the floor. And when she does jump up on tables or counters she's very careful not to knock anything over.
