I’m certain it would be entertaining if I only know what the hell was going on. I’ve been a long time observer but I just don’t get it.

We have twins, they’re nearly 2.
IDK about the career angle. Would taking a year or 2 off in your thirties meaningfully effect your trajectory? You and your partner could alternate, you take a few years off, then he does. Or you could both go part time. Are there other ways you can stay connected to your industry? Additional study?
Statistically caring for a child may not be a good career move, but I suspect a large part of that is that having a child changes your priorities. Your career might take second place, not because it has to, but because you’re far more interested in hanging out with your kid.
Paying someone for help is a nice idea but it didn’t really work for us. We had 2x au pairs for a while, paid minders to help out on weekends et cetera. Here day care is heavily subsidised. They started that when they were about 15 months, 3 days a week. That has been a game changer obviously.
We’ve never done date night per se. We do family outings several times a week. We both make sure the other gets a few hours off every few days. I’m not saying this is “the right way”, some cracks in our relationship have definitely appeared and developed over the last several years. We just wake up every day and do whatever needs to be done.
I’m just not interested in Horses so I just can’t comment on that. I’m really into bikes though. I bought an epic e-bike powerful enough to haul my kids around in this trailer thing. They love it. I love it. It was financially reckless, cost about 9 weeks average wage, but I don’t regret the purchase. I will say though, you should talk to someone who has a horse and pays for all the things. For me the novelty would def wear off super quick.
The thing that I find striking about your post is the analysis. We didn’t analyse the decision to have kids. It was just something we wanted to do. We didn’t have answers for all the questions, or even bother to ask those questions, because literally every one of my ancestors has just gotten pregnant and figured the rest out day by day.
They’re not necessarily solely relying on other peoples opinions, just interested in other peoples perspectives.
There’s more to life than gaining money.
I agree that OP doesn’t seem that enthusiastic, but questioning whether or not you’re 100% on-board with having a child is something every parent should do.
The same thing that usually happens - they just get their stacked SCOTUS to rubber stamp them.
Anything that’s wet all the time is going to grow mold or algae or whatever.
Whether you rinse or scrub, if you just shake off the drips or even towel it off before you fill it up again it’s going to get gross.
It needs to spend a significant amount of time completely dry.
The solution is to have 2 bottles and switch them every few days.
Having a few drinks and getting stoned and then having sex used to make me sweat like a pig.
Just having sex without being drunk or stoned makes me sweat a normal amount.
Also, anti-depressants have 2 problematic side-effects: they can make you sweat more and make it more difficult to climax.
No I’m pretty sure we agree that it’s a bad thing.
I’m pointing out the intention of those involved. The intention is not to assume everyone is a cheat, rather the intention is to make it difficult to make a claim.
What “Epstein Files” do you actually think are going to be released?
Do you really believe the Trump administration is going to release documents that show Trump is a pedophile?
Under this administration, we honor our history and learn from it — we don’t erase it.
What a ridiculous thing to say.
Taking down a portrait is not erasing history, it’s merely refusing to celebrate particular people or behaviors that the entire world finds abhorrent in 2025.
Thai politics are very strange from a Western perspective.
I know enough about it to know that I just don’t get it at all and trying to understand through the prism of Western politics is just confusing.
However, without knowing anything about this specific situation my strong suspicion is that this phone call was a convenient excuse to remove her.
the structural design assumes everyone is a welfare cheat until proven otherwise
I disagree. I work in a related industry and sadly see a lot of people trying to interact with centrelink.
Over the years I’ve developed a strongly held belief that their processes are designed to be invasive and difficult to follow in order to discourage claimants. Dealing with centrelink is your last, worst option, and that is by design.
I remember I was maybe 8 years old and lucky enough to go out on my dad and uncle’s fishing boat. They were commercial fishermen, netting sardines.
I was so excited when dolphins showed up, only to discover that not everyone loves dolphins when my uncle got the shotgun out. He didn’t actually murder any dolphins that day but not for lack of trying.
Suffice to say, I think most fishermen have a healthy dislike for other predators.
to change climate so water can refresh their data
sorry what?
I was about to correct you on that but I looked it up and you’re more correct than me.
I thought groceries were more like packaged goods and not necessarily edible.
Like here in Australia if I went to a super market and bought steak and veggies I wouldn’t say “I’m just out buying some groceries”.
Another example, “I buy my veggies from the veggie shop, steak from the butcher, and then other groceries from the super market”.
I guess it is a somewhat old term. becoming less popular I suppose.
Here in Australia, most of the inflation we encountered in 2024 was due to large retailers simply increasing their prices because everyone expected everything to be more expensive.
Well honestly I kinda don’t understand what’s been happening since April. I know there’s been a lot of chickening out but I had thought that a lot of tariffs were in place even if it’s only 10%. Have grocery chains not been passing this on for the last several months?
It’s one thing to say someone is a terrible parent who ought not to have had children, it’s a whole other thing to prevent someone from having children either before or after birth.
Because people treat their profile like an extension of their identity, and if they retrospectively decide that a post doesn’t paint them in the right light, they just delete it.
