Note that if you are Uber user (idk about driver) their website is good enough; for me it works in Firefox mobile (in “Desktop” mode only). Lyft is app only…
wX (on Fdroid) is a bit geekier alternative. It has a textual weather description, links to AFD (Forecast Discussion by a human meteorologist), and fantastic radar features.
Afaik the mortgage market (setting mortgage payments, type of mortgage: fixed vs floating) is one of the more efficient markets. So choosing rent/own might not be such a big dilema.
Current state (continuous rise of home prices) is, however, concerning. It used to be that USA’s flexibility to move (and refi) was its great advantage (in labor market).
I have debloated Win 11 on a Surface pro. Works OK but I much prefer MacOS (on M1, without Apple account) or PopOS. Much more zen.
Well… my PopOS does not report new updates. I have to go to the “store”(Pop_shop) and install updates manually (which I do every few weeks).
Installing “Operating System Updates” is not always a smooth operation: the window downloads 1 update and crashes (disappears).
Probably the best is just to use command line (sudo apt) but thn i have to type the password which is annoying.
Lack of schedule coordination is an American thing. Or building suburban train lines which scheduling rarely beats the car.
