There is also the one where you use a bent wire to score the plastic liner on the inside of the can then put the acid in the can and swirl it around and pour it out. This leaves the can looking perfectly normal but makes it so you can easily rip the can perfectly in two to the amazement of your chemistry students.

I also really like The Interrupters doing Bad Guy.
The Cleverlys have a lot of really good, over the top, bluegrass covers but I think my favorite might be Party Rock Anthem.
I could keep going on this subject for a while. I have a 12+ hour and growing playlist of nothing but covers that I really enjoy.

I always say I want mine to read “He died the way he lived” and then say how I died. The less sense it makes the better.

I do as often as I can, which is every 4 months because I donate double red cells. I am O negative so my red cells are extremely useful in emergencies and it is something I can do to help other people. Donating doubles they give you your plasma plus some saline back so you end up with the same volume of fluid. Because of this, I feel perfectly fine afterwards. I am currently at almost 7 gallons donated.

In fact, they put it far enough away that it is difficult to touch while driving and disable the touch when the car is moving. There are knobs and buttons in-between the front seats that control it. Also none of the important stuff is controlled through the infotainment system, it is just settings, satnav, and radio (or Android Auto/carplay). Not having to interact with a touch surface while driving is one of my favorite features of my car, and there are a lot of other things that I love about it too.
When I was still at university (20+ years ago) a girl asked my to help her figure out why her Internet in her dorm room wasn’t working. My first question was “is it plugged in?” She said it was, so that evening I went to her room to check it out. First thing I did was find the end of her network cable and plug it back into her computer. When I pointed out that she had said it was definitely plugged in she responded with “I thought you meant the power cable”. I almost pointed out that if the power cable was not plugged in then I’m pretty sure she would not have been complaining that the internet was not working but at this point it was obvious that she was just using her “computer problems” to get me to come to her room and that she was the one that unplugged the cable. The most ridiculous part is that all she had to say was “hey, you should come to my room” and I would have happily obliged.

My friends would call my cell collect from a payphone and just say where they wanted me to meet them. Never needed a name or explanation, if I got a collect call with a location I would decline it and be there as soon as I could.

fitjazz@lemmynsfw.comto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's the most profound thing you did on accident?6·4 months agoWe were setting up for a concert one time and I was helping the FOH engineer (sound guy) check all the instrument/mic lines. One of the instruments was a Moog synth. I started randomly playing it (I do not play piano or synth) so he could check it. After a couple of seconds he said something about me playing a song and I told him I had never heard of it. Apparently I had accidentally played the opening of a song he really liked.

Instead of turning it to where it needs to be and holding it they turn it to far then over correct back twords center then back to the first spot they turned it to, then overcorrect, and repeat the entire turn. Thankfully I was able to get my wife to stop driving this way when we started dating and now she hates riding with any of her family driving as much as I do.

fitjazz@lemmynsfw.comto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are the best earplugs to use for working in a noisy environment?3·6 months agoI got my custom molds for concerts from an audiologist, all in they were $150 and well worth every penny. Also, because they are for work, they got written off on my taxes.
When I first looked at the OP I thought someone had photoshopped out the rope and quick draw and was mad at them. Then I looked more closely and saw that it was just shitty quality and they blended in really well.
