What a badass

The usual plan now is just to hop in whatever you came in and evac to earth. Right now the plan for the Boeing dou would be to ride back in the currently docked dragon. I think they’d have to ride down on the cargo pallet though so it wouldn’t exactly be a comfortable ride. They’ll have their own dragon seats once crew 9 launches later this month.

Basically they don’t have enough docking port to keep two crafts for every flight docked to the ISS at all times so they just plan on if there needs to be an evac that the ones the rode up on being fine.

In case you didn’t know this is Dodgers Stadium in LA and opened 1962 so land was much cheaper then. Also all the land this stadium sits on was seized via eminent domain for a federally funded housing project but because of socialism the city bought the land from the federal government for pennies on the dollar then the Dodgers bought the land and built the stadium there.

Another fun fact about this stadium is it’s built over a couple ravines. They leveled the top of the surrounding hills and used that dirt to fill in the ravines. The parking lot northwest of third base has a buried elementary school under it.

I read the title and was like that can’t be right. I know that the South Pole base runs a data center so I’ve always just assumed that ran Linux. Then I looked at the graph and realized it’s desktop usage and it makes sense now.

The shutdown would be triggered by Congress not passing a funding bill, something that’s happened 3 times since 2013, and the supreme would continue to get paid if this happens.

I think the shot of them on the cliff with the world in the background is a bit off but the rest of it looks fine. I honestly don’t understand why this is getting so much hate.

My sample size of this is very small but most the people I know that go hard decorating for Halloween are the same people putting up Christmas decorations in early November.

I used to have a friend that NaNoWriMo every year and would update her progress on live journal. I always took the exercise to be what you’re describe, just an event to get people to write not even particularly well. Having your foundation saying that people not writing in your writing event is wild.

When I was younger, maybe junior high, I got roped into watching my 3 month old niece while my sister got her hair done. So there I am, sitting in the waiting area of a hair salon with my niece, and who walks in but John Goodman!

I was nervous as fuck, and just kept looking at him as he read a magazine and waited, but didn’t know what to say. Pretty soon though my niece started crying, and I’m trying to quiet her down because I didn’t want her to bother Mr Goodman, but she just wouldn’t stop. Pretty soon he gets up and walks over. He started running his hands through her hair and asking what was wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry or something. So, John put down his magazine, picked up my niece and lifted his shirt. He breast fed her right there in the middle of a hair salon. Chill guy, really nice about it.

I work in retail, but my homelab isn’t super extensive just a nas, a Plex server, and a couple proxmox boxes.

Closet I’ve ever come to being in IT was back when I was still in college and took some a networking class and some web development classes but that was many moons ago.

Is this still not a thing? Now that I think about it I don’t think I’ve looked into macos in like 20 years.

This is mostly unrelated to what your saying but the rx-7 valve cover gasket made me laugh. It also reminded me, at my first job I got a ride home one time with one of women I worked with and she had a Dodge Stealth, which was pretty bitchin’ at the time, so I’m gushing about how this Stealth is way cooler than anything any of our coworkers drivers and she starts telling a story about her first car an FB RX-7 from like 82 I think. I should have married that girl…

Yeah the support is what pulls me to them but anymore unless I need the form factor of the pi it’s hard to justify them. Like the only place I see a hobbyist use for the Pi is 3d printers. Outside of that everything else seems like a small form factor desktop is better.
