Pretty sure this is the incredulous look I give professionals (who have advanced degrees) when they try to tell me how to do my job…

If they knew how to do my job, they wouldn’t have reached out to me.

Honestly, this was already happening in my local music scene over a decade ago.

It’s a large part of why I got out of the physical metal spaces…

I don’t care if it’s swedish melodic gloom thrash death metal or whatever, I just wanted to mosh and have a good time.

I can talk about music theory, and technical masterpieces, and all that. Something can be technically impressive and still sound like crap. People don’t seem to separate the skill involved from the actual music put out.

That being said, I’m tool old to hop in the pit these days. Even if I didn’t get “hurt” I’d still be sore all over for a week lol.
