A phone which can fit snuggly into even the tiniest of my jeans’ pockets sounds really appealing. I’ve kept a loose eye on these things for a while now, but I’ve been constantly put off by the price, durability, and sacrifices made to other features. My carrier also rarely (if ever) seems to extend any sales or promos to folding/flipping phones like they do for others. They are extremely expensive - exceeding even top shelf iPhone Pro’s and Pro Max’s for price.

There are certainly some people that willingly choose not to vote, but there are also a lot of people that can’t. If it is going to be a primary computer or a work computer then I would get the Pro. The extra horsepower and cooling just simply make it more capable.

A lot of Linux users here think the conversation begins and ends with game support. A lot of us use our computers for work and there is a lot of productivity and creative software that does not play nice with Linux. Very few people are motorcycle enthusiasts these days and an even fewer would be into dropping $20,000-$30,000+ on an e-motorcycle. That’s getting up into new-car prices. Gasoline bikes are considerably cheaper and second hand ones are even cheaper still. They are also reasonably priced to service and have tanks that can be filled with change you find between the couch cushions.

It really is no surprise these aren’t taking off.

I can’t see these being used for anything other than tourism or light general aviation use… And even then the areas they can fly/land will be so restricted because of how loud they are.

I gave Mastodon a couple of tries but I don’t think I lasted more than a few days in either instance. I’m just really not into that style of social media, regardless of who the provider of the service is. I do not understand the point of it nor how to “correctly” interact with it.

I also found Mastodon to be extremely confusing and so has every person that I have directed to it. Mastodon’s website and docs do a very poor job explaining how it works to people who are not already in-the-know about federated services. Lemmy was a bit confusing too but I had a much easier time grasping it - although that could be because I have more experience with Reddit-styled websites.

I wish it all the best because it seems like people are just making moves to other VC-owned, private, enshittified platforms that will abuse/exploit their users. I want Mastodon to succeed but often feel like it doesn’t doing much to help its own case.
