I’m so glad you asked! That little nub did eventually grow its last leaf and eventually fell off. So I was back to full nub. So I decided dig her up because I was really curious to see what the heck was going on with the root structure.

And man when I saw all the BABIES this mother had birthed. It was like a tiny potato harvest. I had at least 10 bulbs in the soil. So I nursed them. Some of them didn’t make it but some of them look like the big one you see here. Unfortunately it seems mother nubby is on her way out. She sprouted teeny leaf but that little leaf was very little and met its final demise by the hand of my new kitten crew. I need to dig it up again and see what brewing under ground.

These grow incredibly slow but there is promise that mama has passed on some strong children.

If you’re curious about who still needs checks, I need them for random things for my kid’s school because they themselves are ancient. It’s very happy, I’ve harvested a lot of seedlings that are growing beautifully and I think mama are growing more in the roots. I’m just confused why she be like she be 😅
