TNG is a good entry point, but the first two seasons can be rough. Feel free to skip them if they’re on the verge of turning you off the series entirely.

I’m still around too, though, for me, it was less about “sticking it” to Reddit and more about Reddit not feeling fun anymore. I’ve noticed the same thing as OP and was hoping to find some insight from longer-term Lemmy users about whether this is a result of the influx of new users being more negative, or just a return to form for Lemmy. From other comments around here it sounds like it may be the latter, alas.
The best part is when the publisher shuts down the server on their end so the game breaks even if you are connected to the internet. I’m still waiting for Blood Dragon to get a patch to remove the periodic calls home, but it doesn’t seem likely at this point
I like to say “before the turn of the century”, but someone always gives me shit for it.
It’s not the years, honey. It’s the mileage.
I still remember the first time someone told me about EverQuest. I legit thought they were trying to trick me.
It’s also worth considering that this high-level definition is describing the circumstances after the system takes hold and becomes dominant. Thankfully, the US is not a fascist state yet, so whatever policies are currently being pushed by Trump and the GOP should be seen as part of an effort to gain power, not as an accurate reflection of what policies to expect after uncontested power has been seized.
And, historically, the followers who benefit from fascism tend to be the ones most closely aligned with and actively involved in promoting and enforcing the fascist regime - not necessarily the patsies who got them there in the early stages.
If I’m not mistaken, Kutcher’s letter actually referenced the verdict.
