I tried using KOrganize which had KMail and some other stuff integrated together and ended up feeling like it was a gigantic, archaic codebase just hanging on by a thread. It struggled a lot with Gmail and several times I deleted my whole mail profile to try to fix some strange bug.

If I recall, what did me in was that it would stop sending emails after running for a while. The fix had something to do with restarting Akonadi. It was really disappointing, because I love a good UI/Plasma integration.

I use Thunderbird now and … eh. It’s ok.

I likeVBoxManage. Any crazy thing I’ve ever imagined doing with a VM it’s already supported.

So, to answer your question - I use VirtualBox because it does everything I want and I’ve never had a reason to look elsewhere.

Are you happy with the Kiyo X?

I ordered mine from http://clove.co.uk/ and they happily shipped to Canada. It has worked fine in Canada, the US, and Barbados (eSIM and physical SIM).

I like the phone a lot, but whenever it’s talked about I’m surprised how many people feel the urge to chime in on why it wouldn’t work for them.

I’d say my biggest gripe is lack of accessories. I paid the huge price for the official screen protector twice. They both cracked relatively quickly and there are pretty much no other options. I’m using a flexible matte-finish screen protector from Amazon now, but it scratches really easily and will slide around on the screen if I keep my phone in my back pocket.

When you put about:support into the Firefox URL bar, do you see evidence that your GPU is being used? I’m not sure which settings, exactly, would indicate that, but mine, under “GPU #1” has “Active: Yes.”

Lots of GPU-related options are also disabled, but I still get a smooth Google Earth experience.

I kind of feel this way about tabs, but everyone loves tabs so much I’m often too embarrassed to say anything.

Plasma (KDE) and Windows can both stack lots of windows just fine, so, why not let the window manager handle this and keep the browser more focused on browser tasks?

I’ve reconsidered my view of Anker being a quality brand. I bought a USB C hub of their’s that was supposed to provide 100W power delivery, but it couldn’t keep a 65W Dell laptop happy. So, I powered the Dell separately and still used the hub. After a while the display port started to cut out.

I’ve also bought a USB C PD cable of their’s that was supposed to support 100W power delivery. With my 85W MacBook I noticed that the cable was starting to get hard (non-bendy) spots in it. Soon after my MacBook would report being unplugged when I did anything that would draw significant power.

Ok, so I go over to Amazon and start looking at reviews that are 2 or 3 stars and holy shit. I got the distinct feeling that these were the real reviews. They’re not good.

Their rechargable batteries are so incredible deal.

A website that supports web standards will work well on all browsers and will save you from trying to pressure your customers into changing their preferred browser.

I’m surprised by the negative comments even here.

My wife and I have been using a urine-diverting composting toilet (Nature’s Head) full time for six years now. It has its quirks, but we both prefer it to a normal toilet - although we both lament that there is no “bidet toilet seat” possibility.

Obviously, there’s no water needed, but there is also no smell. Like, less smell than a flush toilet. We have a tiny vent fan and no matter how terrible your deposit, whatever smell there is never makes it out of the bowl.

The compost, after sitting a bit longer with our outdoor compost, goes on our trees. But the overall volume from the toilet is really minimal. I change it every 5 weeks or so.

There was a slight adjustment period to get used to changing it. Again, it’s not the smell, it’s just the idea of “these are clumps of coco coir covered shit nuggets I’m looking at.”

The worst part is the urine, which, when you’re swapping out the bottles, does stink. It’s not for everyone, but in the summer I dilute the pee with water (1:10) then I use that to water our compost.

Anyway… I think with more interest the design of toilets like ours could really be improved. I’m sure it would work without issue for families with their own suburban-like lots. Condos or apartments might need more infrastructure.

My impression is the real blocker is just “ew, gross” and maybe some manly “I only stand to piss!” We’ve also been surprised how many people seem to be totally tuned out to their… Uhh, “waste elimination” I’d say. Like, if you’re pooping, you need to open the flap. We tell everyone, we have it written down. There is a whole explanation of how the toilet functions. But we’ll still get home after being away, or after a guest leaves and one of us goes to the bathroom and - oh lord, what were they thinking.

I’m just a passer-by here, but, I have a house with pine siding. It stains fine? Maybe we’re not thinking of the same thing.

I’ve used Benjamin Moore’s “ARBORCOAT Translucent Classic Oil Finish” tinted “Natural,” as well as on my deck tinted “Cedar.” For the sides facing South and West I would ideally re-stain every 3 years it looks like, and it does seem to be getting darker every time I do that.

I had always used this foaming wood cleaner, but one time in a pinch I bought the “normal” … not-foaming cleaner, and that turned out to be a big mistake. This cleaner didn’t clean so much as bleach, then when I put on the transparent stain it just looked like bleached wood. Luckily that was just a shed.

I’m not going to be much help ATM, but I believe there is some Google service that allows you to use “foreign” email addresses to log in to a Google account. What that would mean is that you could move your domains away from Google but then keep the Google accounts based on those domains active.

Anyway, fingers crossed I remember about this and actually find the thing I’m taking about and get back to you later today.
