We saw what Trump did last time he was in office, and it was really bad, but it was recoverable.

Except putting people in cages at the border and separating children from families. Many families still have not been reunited.

Except the million people that died from Covid-19 due to the government putting the economy over human lives.

Except the stuffing of judicial positions, including the supreme court, that same court that basically made him a king and free from any consequences from all the laws he broke.

Except for our air, land, food and water becoming more toxic and polluted due to Trump’s rollback of EPA protections.

Except all the pregnant women who are dying or forced to carry their rapist’s baby due to that packed court overturning roe v wade.

Except the people of color who rebelled and rioted during the george floyd protests but then the government showed up in unmarked vans and took people away, while the police shot more innocent people and busted heads, and almost nothing changed for the better regarding police violence.

Except the trans people who are now illegal in the state of Florida for having a driver’s license that matches their gender identity, or the bounty on trans people in a town in Texas, or the governor of Texas trying to get lists of trans people to hunt down and prosecute. Or insurance companies refusing to cover trans-related healthcare. Or trans people being shunned by their peers and excluded from sports. Or the violence against LGBTQ people that’s doubled in the last year. All enabled and emboldened by Trump and Trumpism.

I haven’t recovered from any of this shit.

With or without Trump, the new normal is fascism in America. Every american needs to fight every bad policy, every bad law, every bad decision, every threat – every day – until there are no more fascists in power.

Between 7digital, HD tracks, Qobuz store, and my local physical media store, Tidal has never made sense to me. For $15 or $20 a month I can buy and own every track and album I want.

I use bottom-of-the-barrel Pandora for streaming when I am working out or washing dishes. That’s it.

I really like my Playdate, and I say this as someone who was very critical of it before it came out ("No color or backlight? Only A and B buttons? Why would anyone pay $200 for that?) and received it as a gift from my very intuitive husband. I am still very critical of the fact that there is no backlight, but the damn thing is so cute and charming. I like playing games on it.

Yes absolutely. Others mentioned some of these: Gazelle ( i have one and it’s amazing), Riese and Müller, Stromer, Tern, Bulls, Cube, Urban Arrow, and many others. Anything with a Bosch motor is probably worth considering.

So if the city can issue fines for non-compliance to this law, why can’t they issue fines for the small number of cyclists that are currently endangering people? Why ban the 99% of good cyclists instead of going after the bad 1%?

Perhaps you live in a place with different vehicle safety requirements. In the US, uncomfortable forward-tilted headrests are mandated by the federal government.

Yeah, the headrests in cars are angled forward because it’s the safest in the event of a crash. Unfortunately, that means that the headrests are generally uncomfortable. The back of the head should be resting on the headrest; the neck should NOT be resting on the headrest unless you want to risk permanent injury or death.

Residential cameras connected to the internet is the biggest issue for me. I wouldn’t mind most residential cameras if the video footage was only stored locally.

If you go Android, I recommend a sony phone. Unlockable bootloaders, microsd, headphone jack, exceptional audio, good camera. And no fucking notch or hole cut out of the damn screen!

I even recently replaced the battery in my Xperia 1 iii.

When your phone is no longer locked down and working against you, it’s amazing how much more you can - and will - do with it, and the extra storage space quickly becomes most appreciated.
