You can backup and restore with Neobackup which can be found in F-Droid. In my case it works for all apps except Signal which has its own backup routine. You can then pull all data from /sdcard with “adb pull /sdcard” to computer. Then do “adb push . /sdcard” to the new phone, point Neobackup to your data folder and restore everything you need. I usually only restore user apps with data, you could easily bork your installation otherwise.

Als Bürgerin und Steuerzahlerin möchte ich nicht, dass meine sensiblen Daten mit den Tools einer Firma verwaltet werden, die gerade in jüngster Zeit wieder ins Gerede dadurch kam, dass sie weder auf ihre Master Keys (https://www.heise.de/news/Neue-Erkenntnisse-Microsofts-Cloud-Luecken-viel-groesser-als-angenommen-9224640.html) noch auf 38 TB interne Daten von Mitarbeitern (https://www.heise.de/news/Datenleck-Microsofts-KI-Team-stellt-38-Terabyte-ins-Netz-9309303.html) aufpassen kann… Und auch wenn das mit dem Master Key auch anderswo passieren kann, war die Kommunikation hierzu unter aller Kanone. Sicherheit und gar Privatsphäre hat bei MS noch nie eine große Rolle gespielt und der Kunde ist am Ende der Dumme…

The developer of Connect said they might release it as FOSS app one day. That’ll be the day I reinstall it. For now I’m using Jerboa.

Hopefully Connect app on Android (Lemmy client). Also, if it ever happens, Redreader for Lemmy.

You sound like me when I was young. I would easily explode for no reason and it felt like rage would burn me from inside. To be honest I never found a better way to deal with this other than simply getting older. At 48 I’m much more relaxed and don’t get that easily upset anymore. There are of course still things that annoy me but it’s by far not that intense anymore.

I recently got an Amazon Warehouse deal for a Moto G42 in decent condition for 158 Euros (incl. tax). I know this device has only 2 years official firmware support left but I put LineageOS on it and couldn’t be happier. I don’t need high end devices as long as I have a headphone jack, microsd slot and huge battery. Also my old and trusty Lenovo Thinkpad W530 from 2013 is still good enough for me with Linux. The only thing I don’t like is that I had to disable hyperthreading for security reasons cause it has a vulnerability and Lenovo won’t fix it anymore. But tbh I only notice a difference when compiling things and that doesn’t happen too often. I plan to use my devices until they’re broken beyond reparability.

I’m running LineageOS on a Moto G42. I bought this device with LOS in mind (also it is one of the very few devices with headphone jack and MicroSD slot). So far I’m happy. I always rooted/custom flashed every device since 2012. I’m no longer rooting anymore though. Shizuku is sufficient for my needs.

For me Termux is perfect as it is. Have been running a debian chroot in it hosting a few services I consider important like Grafana dashboard and Shiori (bookmark service) for quite some time now.
