I’m open to being wrong, but I still think old shitty statues and stuff should be put in a museum or something. I think it’s important to preserve history, especially when it represents something bad. The Holocaust museum is a solid example, and imo is incredibly important.
I’d even say the same for the One Ring if there wasn’t the chance for someone to reclaim it and become all powerful. I mean is it even possible to contain it?
What? No dude, I’m pretty sure its coming out tomorrow
Fair enough. If you ever give it another chance though, I promise it’s worth it. The way Eren progresses and where he ends up as a character is very, very rarely done in anime.
I’m also surprised you’d bring up Evangelion in a discussion of overused tropes. That’s another show that takes a pretty bizarre turn and ends up going places that few other shows ever even attempt to.
Oh, I figured the tropes you listed would be tropes that appear in aot. Considering this post and even our very discussion is about that specific show.
That really doesn’t sound like AOT at all tbh
I love anime, but I think you’ve watched a little too much
Iirc the first episode hits that ground sprinting. Doesn’t it literally start with a Titan attack and the mom dying?
Not sure how you could be bored by that.
Like, all of it? I get how someone might feel that the first few seasons are overrated, but the last few seasons have been fucking perfection.
What? No, they speak New Mexican
Once again, I’m not criticizing your initial impressions. Please actually read my comments. They were perfectly understandable given what you saw at the time.
What I’m criticizing is what you’re doing now. Presently. With all the information that’s available to you at the moment.
So again, within this thread you learned from another commenter why the term “childlike” was used. Not because of anything malicious, but because of them copy/pasting.
You learned this, and despite that continued to use the “childlike” term as evidence to your point, knowing that it was inaccurate.
Again, to be clear, I’m not criticizing your initial impressions when you first discovered the community. Hell, I’m not even criticizing the overall decision you came to. What I am criticizing is your current, continued use of talking points that you know are false.
I’m saying that right now you know that the term “childlike” was only there due to a copy/paste issue, not because of anything malicious going on. And I know you know this as you responded to a comment explicitly pointing it out. In spite of this you’ve continued to parrot the same talking points regarding “childlike” appearing in the sidebar.
And again, I can’t tell if this is due to you not actually fully reading the comment, or if it’s that the truth is simply less convenient and you’d rather continue using the same talking points despite knowing they’re inaccurate.
This has nothing to do with your initial impressions and has everything to do with what you’re doing right now, in this very thread. Your reply somehow has virtually nothing to do with what I called you out on, as nowhere did I criticize or doubt your initial reaction or overall decision. I’m solely criticizing your continued use of the “childlike” term talking point, despite knowing the truth around why it was there.
I’m a little confused. Above, a comment went really into detail as to why they believe this was just a misunderstanding. One thing they mentioned was this:
The mod of the community copy/pasted the dictionary definition from vocabulary.com, which contains the word “childlike”.
Now… you actually replied to the comment that I’m quoting from. So you saw that the only reason that “childlike” was included was because it was copy/pasted - not because of anything malicious. So, did you not actually read their whole comment? Or did you read it and decide to continue with this talking point despite knowing it’s flawed?
Where did it seem like I was upset?
IOS has no such feature, what’re you talking about? This is exclusive to Reddit, and technically Apollo as a donation system. Apple didn’t make this, and it’s not a system level feature. Reddit made this, and you access this nonsense within their own app.
Also, congrats, you now know an Android user who cares about what their device looks like. I’m genuinely surprised I’m the first though, as the level of customization Android offers makes for an ideal place for those looking to customize the look of their device.
Btw try not to use so many strawman arguments in the future. I never said people used third party launchers exclusively to change icons, for example. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional, but figured I’d let you know regardless.
I’m confused, are you saying you don’t care about the icons at all? Like if they all look like complete ass you wouldn’t mind?
I’m also confused as to why you singled out IOS users, as Android literally has a built in system to change each and every icon yourself for free. If nobody cared that wouldn’t exist.
Growing up my dad would always do a silly amount of research into the best video games to get my brother and I. And they were always relatively unknown - games like Zack and Wiki, and ofc Monster Hunter. So for my 10th birthday I got Monster Hunter Tri, that’d just released that year. He also bought a classic controller for me, as he’d heard that it was borderline necessary.
I loved the game to death. I’d literally just wander around Moga Woods and live off the land for as long as possible. I ofc sucked at the game tho, getting totally walled by some of the first monsters like Qurupeco. But I didn’t really care as I’d just go back to messing around in the woods.
Eventually I hit a wall so hard that it led me to quitting the game. Gobul. I rage quit and didn’t fully come back to the franchise until years later. I would play on and off for a while, but it took years for me to fully get into the series. I had a 3ds and saw that a demo for 3U was available, so I tried it out. I loved it, and immediately went out and bought both 3U and 4U. Been playing ever since.
I’m actually playing through Tri for the first time since then now that the servers are up, and having a blast!
Exactly this. I think the real problem is that “infinite” is virtually impossible to comprehend, so people regularly misunderstand what it means and how it works.
