Dividing things by states makes no sense, the only reason it looks like that is because of how the elections work. There is blue and red in every state.

Edit: Maryland also seems to be misrepresented, as they, unsurprisingly, voted for Harris.
Colorado and New Mexico are also unfairly lumped in with the red states on this map.
Edit 2: I find the AP map suspect. Not once since Nixon has the country voted this firmly conservative. I smell foul play with electronic voting machines, especially the ones that don’t provide a paper receipt. The federal government, DEA, etc. said they wouldn’t pursue cases in states that legalized it.
They 100% could if they wanted to. And there’s no reason to believe that a new Trump admin would follow through on any promises like that going forwards, if they even made any.
