I gave them the exam material three weeks in advance, set the exam date giving them two weeks to study a single vocabulary page, reminded them about the exam in every class. Older students warned the current ones, urged them to study.

My current students thought I was bluffing, the exam is tomorrow and they haven't done shit.

Tomorrow it's going to be most unpleasant for them, yet extremely entertaining for me :)
