Republican Congressman Mark Green has filed for divorce from his wife of 35 years after having an affair, according to a dispatch from his wife.

In a note obtained by the Banner, Camilla Green accuses her husband of having an affair with a 32-year-old woman after being corrupted by his time in Congress, warning that his peers may become “intoxicated with power and adoration.”

“He is living life greatly deceived. I have offered reconciliation, and he wants nothing of it and has insisted on a divorce. Satan has rewritten our marriage in his mind,” she wrote. Multiple sources tell the Banner that the letter was sent to members of Congress.

Rep. Green asked for privacy after the note was released, but did not address the validity of the affair.

Whoop de do. I wish republicans weren’t such hypocrites so we could all concentrate on politicians voting records instead of their private lives.

And, to be clear, his voting record is trash.

If he'll cheat on his wife of 35 years, he'll cheat on the American people. Vote his ass out!

It is more likely to cheat after a long time vs shortly after getting married. For obvious reasons.

And please explain: What does this basic human thing (sexuality) have to do with the qualities of a politician? And even further away: What do accusations of it have to do with it?

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I personally think it's telling of a person's character, which is inextricably entwined with how they perform their jobs (especially those in public service). For me, it's not an absolute deal breaker, but it's heavily weighted if I was considering voting for that person

That would be like once after 35 years not doing something perfect in politics and instead going with more basic human thoughts. I don't see that as a relevant thing. If people want to discredit Republicans, going by looks, sexuality etc. is really not the right choice.

This isn't about looks or sexuality.

Who CARES? Cheating and Divorce are NOT against the Bible!

Tell the conservatives who have been whining about family values and "getting away from God" for the past...200 years.

His wife rather publicly disagrees with you.
