He asked Stephanopoulos, “who’s gonna be able to hold NATO together like me? Who’s gonna be able to be in a position where I’m able to keep the Pacific Basin in a position where we’re — we’re at least checkmating China now? Who’s gonna — who’s gonna do that? Who has that reach?”

I like to draw a contrast with Xi Jingping’s recent summit with the Arab League.

    1. He praises them on their achievements, acknowledges the difficulties and asks them to strive to create creative new solutions to existing problems.
    2. Asks the leaders a bunch of questions as to what is going on right now to get their insight.
    3. Thanks them for educating him.
    4. Asks what role can China play in a mutual “win-win” relationship.
    5. Thanks them for their time and gifts them some Chinese food, beverage or trinket.

That’s largely the way he goes about interacting with nations, compare that with the Occupied Indigenous Nations that we commonly call “USA”, and how they claim to “run the world”.

So much to unpack in a few sentence. It is impressive the amount of wrong he manages to condense into such a tight package.

“Who is going to be able to hold NATO together like me”

Probably not the win he thinks it is.

    “We’re at least checkmating China”.

He realises this means that they’ve defeated China right? Which decidely…no. Though even if he said checking he would be wrong.

    Who has that reach?

This is part of the issue. The pacific basin shouldn’t be part of the US empire, nobody needs to have “reach” on the other side of the planet from their own interests.

Consider the last time Biden played chess. Now consider the last time Biden played chess against someone whose continued employment didn’t depend on letting Biden win.

“Who is going to be able to hold NATO together like me”

Literally anybody, I’m pretty confident that Sweden and Finland would have joined even under Trump. It runs itself.

If it were any other 81 year old man talking about how he controls the world, he’d be playing checkers in a quiet room which his grandkids never visit.

I think that he’s experimenting to see how much nonsense he can spew and still obtain an election victory. The “democracy” in Imperial America is already a joke, so why not have some fun with it?

Jesus, what an arrogant piece of shit. Even if, EVEN IF, you are someone that wants to support the Democratic Party, you have to believe that he is an arrogant piece of shit. Right?

I’ll tell you what, I might live here, but I’m no longer participating in political theater, and this is just funny now. I mean, everybody’s just shooting themselves in the foot all day long and it’s just hilarious.
