We are thrilled to announce the launch of IFTAS Connect, a new community of practice designed specifically for Fediverse moderators. IFTAS Connect aims to provide moderators, community managers and anyone engaged in creating a safer Internet with a wealth of tools, resources, and a supportive network to help them connect, collaborate, and navigate the complexities of federated content moderation. (Read the Press Release here.)
We’ve worked with a broad array of moderators and advisors to kick-start the available resources – and we hope many more will join and contribute their experience.
Après, ya pas trop d’info sur le logiciel libre…z’en pensez quoi ? Ya même un directeur, trésorier… 😳
Perso, j’avoue etre méfiant…
@meta
Du coup, je leur ais posé des questions sur la gouvernance et le logiciel libre. :)IFTAS : Governance is split between me as the executive director, the advisory board, the corporate board, and the moderator advisory council. Generally corp board = legal/compliance, advisory board = strategic connections, advisory council = projects and services, and the general community gets to weigh on on everything we do. I sit between all of them and direct traffic. In general, we only work on things the moderator community has specifically asked for. The site is open source wordpress and a few plugins.
<@snoopy:tedomum.net> Thank a lot for taking your time for replying.
And, i have other questions :)
And what are your process for taking decision ? Do everyone sucribed has a vote/voice ? And how do you manage our data when we subcribe ?
Is there a community guideline ? Or a charter that we can read somewhere ?
Thank a lot :)
Community guideline for IFTAS Connect? https://connect.iftas.org/community-mission-statement and https://connect.iftas.org/community-participation-guidelines/ - if you mean subscribe to IFTAS Connect (it’s a free web site you can request an account) see https://connect.iftas.org/privacy/ - Decision making is varied depending on the activity, much of it is community-led but board approved, we solicit needs assessments, we review those needs, propose activities, the various boards approve, we move forward, rinse and repeat. I suggest you review our activity tracker to get a sense of what we do: https://connect.iftas.org/library/iftas-documentation/iftas-activity-board/
