Sounds like a bunch of people fell for a mass phishing attack, or a new leak with lots of reused password, so Apple is locking those accounts out to prevent fraudulent purchases / ratings.

My wife woke up to this this morning, and has had a shitter of a time resetting everything. My account wasn’t affected, so fuck knows what that was about.

Oh, so at least I wasn't the only one. Didn't have too much fun resetting password and logging in to devices this morning, as I was busy enough to leave for a trip. Now I also get to generate a bunch of app passwords again, yay!
