Should I revert my game after killing

Spoilers for Act 3

Raphael in Sharess’ Caress in Wyrm’s Crossing

? I was able to throw them off the balcony with several shoves, dealing ~1100 damage (and only granting 65 XP).

Because the game keeps teleporting you out and never technically entered combat, I’m guessing they weren’t supposed to be killed here. Some quick google searches suggest they’re supposed to appear later on too - will this break my game at all or is it safe to continue with this save file?

There’s so much the game will allow you to do that hasn’t been documented yet. You’re probably going to see cutscenes and paths that no one else has seen! I mean you can restart if you want, but I think it’d be amazing to have an experience no one else has had

Yeah I’m really curious to see how it turns out! Mostly just wanted to make sure I wasn’t bricking my game by accident and lose several hours of progress, it sounds like he’s non-essential though so it’ll probably be fine

Finished the game yesterday and I don’t think this will brick everything, although some Raphael specific stuff could be easier / bricked / kinda funny. I just hope you got the loot off of him.

Please let us now, how this plays out.

    spoiler main story

He’s not a central character to the story, but he has an item that can be change the main story significantly. Afaik there are two ways to get it, the one where you fuck him over should still be possible.

the character's death according to DnD lore

Raphael is a devil, so he is not from the material plane, but from the nine hells. In DnD, if you kill a devil in any plane other than the nine hells, they just kinda reappear in their home plane. This mechanic is actually being leveraged by larian for another quest in act 2.

So if he reappears, technicially it wouldn’t be wrong. However I’m really curious if he’s gonna acknowledge this. The next time I saw him after Wyrms Crossing, he kinda wanted to kill me anyways…

Finally figured out how it works out! He still appears and can be interacted with, but just shows as 0 HP the whole time. Attacking him again (killing him instantly) causes a game over, at least from the Astral Plane

Wait, he shows up in the astral plane? I didn’t know that, I just broke into his home and had to kill him when fleeing

I have no idea, I’ve never seen this before! Does their friend downstairs act like you talked to them already, or is she still trying to send you up to talk to them?

    spoiler

I’m guessing you pushed him all the way off the bridge, and that’s why he died? I haven’t personally killed him yet, but have been told that he has loot you might have wanted, which you won’t get if his body was lost in a chasm.

Weird, I didn’t find anyone like that downstairs, and hadn’t talked to him or anyone else in the building prior to killing him. Not really sure what’s going on but I’m going to try continuing from here.

Edit: I found her, and she’s acting like I haven’t seen him yet. She keeps telling me to go see him.

Nope, or at least I couldn’t find his body. The first few times I threw him off it dealt 100ish damage and teleported him back up, but for the final one I think it was angled so he hit an inaccessible chasm/ocean.
