I bought my first new car about a month ago. I found out car manufacturers basicaly put only 1 or 2 coats of paint on cars these days, so that if you even look at the car wrong, it will scratch and you’ll have to take it in for touch up.
So I’m gonna do that, but then also shell out for PPF on the doors, fenders, and hood. When I shouldn’t have to, and never worried about on my older cars.
Your complaint shows a complete lack of respect for the manufacturer’s profit margins. They probably save a couple bucks per vehicle by
skimping on materialsoptimizing paint dispersion.Thin layers allow for bending without cracking the paint.
Used to have a Hyundai. Paint was coming off as early as 50k. She was missing paint entirely in spots at 175k.
? Bought a new recently seems pretty scratch-proof. Who gave you this info?
Might be certain manufacturers are worse offenders. I found out first hand. And then gained confirmation when calling a couple places for estimates for paint repair.
Make?
2024 Subaru
I have a 2022 OBW. Paint is not its strongest quality, that’s for sure.

2 thin coats? Was the worker’s name Duncan Rhodes? Make sure you apply Nuln Oil before you seal.
