So, a month ago or so a limited windows client for proton drive was released for everyone, and at ca the same time this statement was given about macOS beta:
Further statements were made about how much quicker the rollout would be than for Windows.
However, as a Visionary user, I’ve still heard nothing. Also, there are zero posts about macOS beta on Reddit, so it seems like hardly anyone have been given access to the beta so far.
I don’t mind that it takes time. I just can’t fathom why it was necessary to tease it as just around the corner, making it seem like we would get it in a very short time?
Who has anything to gain at all from these false promises? It’s annoying when a company I trust and rely upon does so poorly with communication.
I’m anxiously awaiting rclone release 1.64. It will add support for Proton Drive. Instant support on Mac & Linux.
Sadly a lot of proton promises are super delayed or never happen. Android still relies on Google services for push… even it was promised 3 years back to release a version that won’t relay on Google.
Wait, so you’re telling me I can’t use drive with a degoogled phone?
You can, no push notifications on email
Phew, scared me for a bit. Thanks!
As I understood this, it will not be a known, secure implementation? I felt advice against using it, but can’t remember from where or why.
I totally understand the annoyment, trust me, but I know they’re working on it. I mainly use a Mac, so believe me when I say I do want this selective sync more than anything in the tech world! We don’t have anything else to say so far, but lemme double-check and I’ll come back with some more news if there are any.
I don’t think I mentioned selective sync, I’m just awaiting any news at all about the macOS beta rollout in general, since the Proton team decided to announce that it really was right around the corner - a month ago.
I mentioned it because that’s my need, my expectation. But no additional news so far, beyond “soon”.
