It was pretty heavily shamed and my dad was very worried my brothers or I might turn out gay if we played with our sister’s toys. A friend of mine’s brother came out to his parents and before they had processed it (they’re accepting now), they blamed it on my friend’s refusal to include him when my friend played football and such other manly pursuits.
