So with some Fortnite skins currently available through PSN I thought time to test streaming . So started one of the biggest games on the planet in cloud streaming mode and get greeted by you have to restart Fortnite for a patch to be downloaded.

Really bad start but, well I could have gotten one broken „machine“ let‘s try this again. So I waited, changed IP‘s and even tried it from a second account and apparently Fortnite just does not work atm.

I mean every streaming service has a problem one time or another. But one of the biggest games on the planet, while a promotion for that game is running on your service, is not working? Come on Sony that is embarrassing.

Tested it on XCloud and it is working just fine, so not an Epic problem either.

I think you do not understand the use case for streaming tbh.

The target audience are people who get asked to play a certain game out of the blue or just want to try it out.

If your friend asks you to play Fortnite out of the blue you can say „yes let‘s go“ and not yeah sure in a bit after I finished the 60+ GB download to play one round.

In my case all I wanted was to log in and go to the locker on PS so the skin gets unlocked. Who in his right mind would download 60+ GB for that. We‘re looking at less then 1 minute playtime.

I don’t think anyone understands the usecase for streaming, it’s not sticky so companies don’t really like it, it’s full of problems like you are experiencing so consumers don’t really like it, and in the best of cases, it’s still a worse experience
