I already mentioned the movie Downfall previously, but I’ll mention it again. He is rightfully portrayed in that film as the most devious, manipulative, weaseling scumbag liar and it couldn’t be more accurate. I can only read so much on Nazi biographies before I nearly get sick to my stomach, but from what I read, he was especially concerned with the success of the Reich above all else. Even beyond some of the classical Nazi traditions, he was considered to work with Eisenhower to further the 3rd Reich’s existence, if the possibility arose. Simply a stain on Humanity, death is a blessing for someone like him who deserves so much worse.
