It’s one of the best shooters I’ve ever played, 10/10. Also I have not played Half-Life 1, partly bc I find its graphics hard to look at
That game fucking slaps hard, that Xen was something else

What’s the difference between Half Life and Black Mesa?
Black Mesa, aside from just graphical and audio overhauls, also uses different (many would say tougher) enemy AIs, which significantly changes the sort of strategy which the player uses for encounters. Much of the game is also pretty significantly reworked, I believe On A Rail is much shorter and the Xen chapters are muuuuch longer and waaaay better. Black Mesa also adds more puzzles, making some use of the physics simulation of the Source game engine.
All in all, it’s the same story as Half Life, but a pretty significantly different experience.
Thanks

Black Mesa is Half Life if they had better computers back then

What were your favorite parts of it?
Hard to say, I thought it was great from start to finish
But if I had to choose I’d probably say Xen and everything thereafter
Such a good soundtrack, and I love how much it does to characterize the Vortiguants, the absolute sweethearts of Half Life
I have it on Steam but my laptop is so ass that I can’t run it with decent graphics. Also, the og HL1 is very good for a '98 game, and it’s at most 5 hours, you should check it out
I installed HL1 today bc it’s free to
ownlicense on steam until the 20th of November 19:00 CET
Half-Life rules!
Eventually Valve will learn how to count to 3, it took Rockstar 10 years to learn to count to 6.
Half Life is a GOAT game (2 is mid) and Black Mesa is a good remake. There’s also a mod that recreates the Blue Shift expansion, but I don’t know if it’s even close to being finished.
