What is Deseret? turns out it is not a misspelling of desert on the map.
Mormon’s fantasy empire.
Yeah, I looked it up and started to read about it but decided to has better things to do with my time than finish the article.

The “Jaredites” were an imaginary people from Mesopotamia who left after the collapse of the tower of Babel in sealed boats and ended up in the good ol US of A.
Obviously there is no achaeological evidence for this group of people because Joeseph Smith made them up for his
cultfanficYup, I linked it in my reply.

I like how sporadic state names are, then you get to the midwest and it’s just like “fuck it, let’s keep Iowa Wisconsin Michigan Illinois Ohio”. Honorable mention for the Utah-Wyoming-Colorado-New Mexico section
why is Deseret on here? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_Deseret
The map renames the actual EPA ecoregions as if they were states. “Deseret” here is just the Central Basin and Range ecoregion, but that happens to line up pretty well with the proposed State of Deseret so the author seems to have just gone with it
Sauce pls
