Corpos consolidating power and buying off politicians are killing this planet. Policies/laws kill the planet. Individual responsibility is a farce. Do what you love. Be Happy.
There is a difference between what is necessary and what is sufficient.
It is necessary for us to stop buying meat to curb the climate catastrophe.
Not in my opinion. If beef cost as much as it should it would naturally become a much smaller part of everyone’s diet; however, the policies and the lobbying I was referencing in original comment keep it exploitative and artifically cheap.
Both are necessary. Neither is sufficient.
lol if you say so I guess

I’d just amend that to do what you can. Yeah, you’re not going to change the world, but you can have a small, positive impact.
Absolutely. In your community, in your garden, in your daily interactions.
I see we’re on the same page. It’s a matter of scopes I guess.
The corpos want you to think individual responsibility is a farce, at least where it counts, which is political and financial power.
First it’s cigarettes. Ok, fine.
Then it’s eggs/red meat. Um…
Then it’s alcohol at any amount. Hey!
Microplastics in my balls. Um…
You sure as shit ain’t giving us cost of living increases (minimum), meds that don’t have like 50 crazy (and debilitating, if not fatal) side effects, and everyone frowns on suicide as an answer. You gotta give us something! 😢
Just let people enjoy their testicular microplastic in peace, jesus!
The 3D printing community needs to step up and popularize printing using ball plastic as a means of recycling/reuse.
I hate how many music artists I’ve found and loved only to find the people behind the music are complete shitbags. Just to name a few that have been on my mind lately:
- Dance Gavin Dance
- Crystal Castles
- P. Diddy, of course, but nobody knew he was a shitbag until recently.
Yeah, artists who do terrible things or support bad causes are always a bummer. I really liked the band Haim, who just put out a new record. But I got suspicious to check and sure enough, their whole family is extremely Zionist, they just keep somewhat quiet about it.
Crystal Castles was a real blow too, and scary\sad how long predators like Ethan or Dr. Luke can thrive in the music industry.
“Find what you love and let it kill you” –not Charles Bukowski, see below (edited)
I’ve read a lot of Bukowski and found it odd that I didn’t remember this particular turn of phrase. Turns out, this is a misattribution according to ther Quote Investigator: https://quoteinvestigator.com/2014/05/29/find-love/
Good sleuthing. I can see why someone would think it’s Bukowski.
Right? It really has that feel to it
