I don’t know a thing about coding but I have an Ubuntu now. I’m still figuring out how to install 7zip, and I’m beginning to wonder if “install” means something else in here. It’s been fun though.
Mint is Ubuntu. It’s just modified to get rid of the crap they put in there that sucks, and has a more familiar interface for windows users, as well as being easier to customize.

Welcome, don’t be afraid to google anything you don’t understand, if you still don’t understand it, ask, nobody was born savvy and experienced.
Thanks! Installing Ubuntu was a whole situation in itself so it was a preview of what’s to come 😂
If it is your first linux experience, I would rather suggest linummint. Very user friendly, rock solid. Can;t go wrong with mint.
Is there a lot of support for Mint? I picked Ubuntu because it looked like there is more people who can help with it if I had to post a question.
