They did it so articles like this would be written about them. Easy advertising
Like the time “bootylicious” was added. A word everyone stopped using a year later
I think Cambridge need to be more conservative here. Wait ten years and see.
I think it’s skibidi bootylicious of them
Please avoid commenting in everyone’s stead.
Bootylicious is still being used, sporadically.
I don’t really care too much about which slang words we decide to carry forward. I’ve long since adopted rizz and -ussy, and like delulu being added here.
I am a little bothered by the fact skibidi doesn’t have a definition. I feel like words should have a meaning if they want to be added to our official lexicon. It seems like skibidi is just a sound children enjoy making.
Delulu is just a spin on another word, rizz is the same
Random affixes are common enough that it’s normal no matter how weird any given one is
But skibidi is literally a filler nonsense word. It’s like if we just put random scatman words and beatboxing noises into the dictionary. It’s babble, which would mean it has a place in the dictionary as an example of babble or gibberish.
But it doesn’t actually /mean/ anything by it self. So it’s just weird to see it getting added as a “word”.
Is that gm_BigCity?
I’m still blown away how a shitty GMod meme turned into a potential movie franchise and a toy line, now, about 20 years after the hype of Half-Life/GMod had died down.
