JD Vance ‘turned away from Cotswolds pub following staff mutiny’
JD Vance had apparently wantrd to make a booking at Michelin-rated pub The Bull in Charlbury.
But staff are said to have told management they wouldn’t show up to work if Vance was allowed to book at the pub.
Just weeks after Kamala Harris - Vance’s predecessor as Vice President - had visited the pub for a meal!
Nawww, is someone finding out there’s consequences to actions?
People like him don’t draw the straight line between his actions and consequences like this. There is always some external faction trying to stop him doing good work. This way he never has to face up to his actions being unpopular. He gets to frame it in his head as if he is a crusader being challenged by evil forces. The day one of these guys says “man people really don’t like what I’m doing, maybe I should rethink my policies” is the day hell freezes over.
I like these types of consequences even if they can’t see it, limit them to only the worst establishments and maybe their vanity will get the best of them, either way it makes going to those good establishments better.
Now I want to go there and tip the staff extra!
It’s Scotland. You don’t tip, because they have laws that require that you actually pay your staff
England, not Scotland, but we do tip for good service here. 10%-ish for meals with table service only, exceptionally unusual to tip anything else. And the staff will all be paid at least the minimum wage if they’re over 21, which is £12.21 ~= $16.55 usd, and are required by law to receive all of their tips.

Akshually… the Cotswolds are in England, not Scotland
Woulda been even funnier if they’d allowed him to book and then turned him away at the door, but this is still pretty great.
Probably smart of them to not do that, an asshole like Vance might sue for breach of contract or something if that happened.
