Hello! I would like to better know what you guys think is best in specific indexers. For instance, easynews websearch is good to find a lot (even newly released) shows from both US, UK and DE. I was surprised with the availability of european movies there and it has some good filtering options (ui v2 is just better, looks more like a normal indexer webpage). My example is not the best since easynews is not quite an indexer per si, but could you guys tell what makes your favorite indexers better for you? Is one better organized? Is another good for any specific niche (ie: japanese stuff, or euro shows, or latin american movies or whatever) ? I know it has been asked a lot and written a lot elsewhere, but it could be nice to have some content here @ lemmy too!

I don’t download lots, so still mostly manually browse for stuff. I suffer from hearing loss, so need subtitles for everything. The best indexer for me is Drunkenslug for 2 reasons.

Firstly each release has a “media” link which pops-over the video info plus the audio language and subtitle language. Secondly DS has a “New Releases” link that lists movies by date, genre, etc, have found some good stuff I’d not heard about before.

I also use DogNZB which has a useful watchlist feature which can setup future movie and tv releases for auto RSS download whenever they appear. They have lists of upcoming movies and shows. That’s a bit like Sonarr, but only for that one indexer.

That’s exactly the type of experience i was looking to know from the indexers! Thanks for sharing your experience with these 2. Definitely looking towards DS here, I also like to search manually.

      Wow, do both sound great.

I also mostly just search manually, but am looking at setting up something more automated soon.

I used to use all of this stuff many years ago, but less so in recent years.

But the fragmentation and rising costs of paid services and the way every single thing is becoming a subscription is annoying the hell out of me. It’s like they are trying to do their best to push me back to this stuff!

Anyway, I see both of the above services are invite only, if anyone can spare one I’d be really grateful!
