Welcome to the first ever lemmy.nz photo challenge! Also the first time I’ve tried anything like this so bear with me while I make it up as I go along. With any luck I’ll find some prompts that’ll fit everyone but definitely chip in if you have ideas or have run forum challenges before.

Rules? Rules! (but not many)

  • It has to be a shot that you’ve taken yourself, I guess. There are posts all over the net sharing other peoples’ efforts but this is more about doing it yourself.
  • No NSFW, since that tends to open all sorts of issues around content control and this is meant to be a bit of fun.

Okay, we’re starting off with a cliche this week, because I’m all for easing into things:

Because a significant number of !newzealand subscribers are not from lemmy.nz, many may not see this post. We might need to think about ways to make it more visible.

For example, cross posting it to !newzealand (though this means two comment streams) or at least posting about it in the daily kōrero.

I know technically it might be better suited to !offtopic, but given the interest in !newzealand and for since something like this participation is crucial, I think it might be a good idea to do it in !newzealand (perhaps cross posting this one, then doing it in !newzealand going forward). What do you think?

Yeah I was going to post it to the NZ and realized it probably fit better in offtopic. Would you be able to crosspost? I’m on mobile for another few hours and haven’t tried to figure that out yet.

Actually I think it would be better in c/NZ to be honest. Off topic is intended for shitposting and discussion of topics not related to NZ.

        Great initiative!

If you’re on mobile web then you just click this button: screenshot of cross post button

Happy to do it for you if you’d prefer, though.
