A protest group that signed up dozens of candidates to run in Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s riding in the past federal election is planning to bring their campaign to an upcoming Alberta byelection.
The consequence of doing this will be to further limit our options. Way to go. Exploit a loophole just to look like a jackass. They’ll make it even harder to run against a big tent party.
I didn’t see anyone complain when they did this in ridings where the conservatives won. Nobody complained before the election either, even though there was news of them doing this for a few elections now. Only when Pierre lost his seat did the chuds come out of the woodwork, suddenly making an issue out of this. Also — despite the long ballot, 39,000 people successfully selected Poilievre, 43,000 successfully selected Fanjoy. Only ~500 voted for the independent candidates.
