“When spaceship Remus crash-lands on planet Morganthus, the Planet Master of Xerces sends the spacecraft Quest to rescue them, but it crash-lands, too. Baelon leads the away team, comprising himself, his rival Cabren, psi-sensitive Alluma, medic Dameia, martial arts fighter Quuhod and jittery rookie Cos. Finding only brutally murdered bodies aboard the Remus, Quest personal start getting brutally slaughtered, one-by-one, themselves. With their ship still damaged, the team investigates a nearby, lifeless alien pyramid, not realizing its using their own personal fears to hunt them down and kill them.”
I think I heard the production designer went on to do some stuff…

My absolute favorite bit of Trivia about this movie is that it was made as a cash-in knockoff of another “humans fight terrifying aliens in space” movie and the production designer did such any amazing job in this otherwise awful movie that he was hired to do the sequel movie for that movie they were cashing in on here.
This movie should also have a trigger warning for people that are uncomfortable with giant maggot rape.
@Anorack So yes, this is a cash grab piggybacking off Alien (and maybe a bit of Battlestar Galactica), but IMO it’s a pretty respectable pulp sci-fi film that transcends its limitations and is enjoyable on its own terms. Sid Haig turns in a respectable performance, Ray Walston is terrific, and the ending is pretty great.
Also, James Cameron (yes, THAT James Cameron) was production designer and second unit director.
And: what an amazing poster.
