Been working on this little game for a few months, wanted to share! I don’t have my preorder yet so I’ve been having friends test it on device. The crank is neat!
In case you don’t know what a playdate is:

Do you use dithering? It kind of looks like it but I am not sure.
The sprites are all dithered, yes! Through ffmpeg. And the spotlight is done with a library called GFXP
That’s awesome! Really dig the artwork. I love my Playdate.
What’s the overall objective? Trying to help ships navigate the rocks and obstacles by spinning your light around?
Yeah, kinda a diner dash from the panopticon type deal. I have some ideas for expansion but for now the scope will be relatively small.
What group were you in!
Group 4! So only got it relatively recently, but it was well worth it.
What group are you in?
5, but 56k. The group is supposed to start shipping soon, so by this fall I’m hoping 🤞
Stay strong! Really hoping the hardware change they made for Group 4 lets the shipments start flying. It’s such a cool device and well worth the praise, but boy has the wait been painful.
They said they were sometimes shipping 400 units a day during group 4, I think it’s helped a lot! Hopefully my wait will only be 7-8 months 🥲
