        I’ve read that the fear of communists was an important factor for our right wing to capitulate on the subject. (Norway)

      In a capitalist society the unions might be supported/used by AuthLeft groups, but when they are in power, they don’t exactly like somebody else telling them what to do.

      For example the 1953 uprising in German Democratic Republic was because the Politburo increased the working load of the construction workers AGAIN and they didn’t like that.

      Or the polish Solidarity Union, that ultimately kicked off the transition away from socialism in Poland, because they treated their workers not good enough.
