This was another bare shell restoration, I did this one during lockdown.

    Love the blue.

Why’d/how’d you pick this for your project? Was it laying around, a good deal, or vw passion?

I used to have a T2 bay when I was in my late teens, And I always thought the T3 was a cool van, So when I got some funds and time I just bought one. Kindof on a whim. My dad has owned a lot of T2’s, So I was working on them from a young age. I have a T2 as well but I like the T3 better :)

That’s awesome :) - have you found parts any harder to come by as the years go on?

Ive never worked on vws so I don’t have a ton of context, but have always heard they’re popular to work on - something like age+popularity=harder/more expensive to get parts

Here in the UK parts for these old VW’s are very easy to find quite often, I got evenything I needed for this project including some rather good aftremarket body panels. Even my T2 which is a changeover year 72 I was able to get everything for. I would rate VW parts as being resonable price. The Skyline is the one that can get expensive but is also well supported by the aftermarket.
