We’re just a few days away from the launch of Starfield (if you bought the Premium Edition) and if you have pre-installed you might want to make sure you’ve also downloaded the 15.48GB day one patch that was released yesterday.
Depending on which edition you have bought or if you’re playing through GamePass the game might be playable for you in just 3 days time.
Here is the global release schedule for both the standard edition and premium version.
If you’re playing via GamePass you will have the standard edition however you can upgrade to the premium edition for £34.99 and play on September 1st.
Somebody clarify this for me so I’m sure I’m understanding it right; If I have Xbox Gamepass, I can buy the premium edition upgrade without having to first buy the standard edition at full price? So I would only pay for the PE Upgrade and the monthly XBGP fee?
Yes, it works like that.
Jesus. How big is this game? Do they not know how to compress voice files or something?

I don’t like this trend of selling the extras for gp games. Muddies the water of ownership IMO.
Don’t worry it’ll be available in subsequent GOTY / Legendary / Ultimate / Definitive editions for the next 20 years 💀💀💀
Yeah I know it’s dumb and mostly just “pay $30 to play early.” It’s just annoying.

It’s not really a trend, is been like this basically since the start. Base game is included in GP but DLC and premium editions are extra.
Not all games have premium editions, and most probably don’t launch with DLC, but I think most Microsoft titles are like this.
I’m hoping that it’s good. I’ll wait for the unofficial patch as always, though.
